Issey Miyake’s 2022 collection needed to be expressed with precision—both visually and verbally. The garments were architectural and refined, but that character had to be captured in stills and story. The challenge was clear: -Translate the design vision through photography and text -Balance bold styling with the minimal elegance of the collection -Ensure the magazine feature felt cohesive, curated and high-end -Support the lead photographer while shaping a unified editorial

In a dual role as photography assistant and copywriter, I contributed across production, styling and narrative. Photography Support -Worked alongside Kittie Saunders to enhance her vision through lighting, composition and set presence -Managed styling continuity across looks, ensuring each piece reflected the brand’s high standards -Helped frame each shot to highlight key features: structure, movement, texture Copywriting -Wrote the full feature story, connecting the photography to the brand’s intent -Balanced poetic language with sharp editorial structure -Focused on themes of form, balance and expression to reflect the collection Editorial Execution -The final magazine feature merged clean layout with bold stills -My copy was embedded directly in layout, designed for flow and restraint -The result was a seamless blend of art direction and storytelling

I helped shape the 2022 Issey Miyake campaign through photography and copy, bringing a layered collection to life in print, with clarity and calm.

Working closely with Kittie Saunders, I assisted with lighting, framing and detail-checks on set. I focused on preserving the clean geometry of the clothing while helping shape the atmosphere around each shot.

At the same time, I developed a written narrative for the editorial. I wanted the text to reflect the garments—minimal, but with intention. Each sentence mirrored the visual restraint of the shoot, giving room for the images to breathe.

Together, the visuals and words told a unified story: quiet structure, modern confidence, subtle drama.
